COVENTRY LGBTQ+ ARTS AND CULTURE

This design proposal for ONE Bull yard, Coventry aims to create a multi-functional LGBTQ+ community culture and art centre. That empowers the LGBTQ+ residents and international visitors of the city of Coventry.

The core ethos of the centre is to empower a new voice for the LGBTQ+ community by building stronger relationships with a new audience while offering a safe space for the output of education, activism, and representation through the media of arts and social justice.

This hopes to positively affirm the local LGBTQ+ community’s place in general society, reducing the negative stereotypes and acts of hate crime suffered by showcasing the community’s history, strengths, and contributions to mainstream popular culture.

A queer affirming space that offers a collaborative practice, education, and support to the LGBTQ+ community. This unique space hopes to further extend the city’s diverse cultural standpoint by firmly cementing its reputation as the city of peace and inclusion.
